Cuttlefish Casting

This is a great way to reuse unwanted or broken jewellery, or even offcuts of metal from jewellery making projects, to produce something new.

Cuttlefish collected from the beach is sanded and carved to provide the new shape and then metal is melted and poured into the cuttlefish mould.  Once cooled, the caste metal can be cleaned up and polished and can even have gemstones added.

The possibilities are almost endless and there is a great deal of satisfaction in giving new life to scrap materials
