Can you identify a stone for me?

Most times the answer will be “Yes” but rather than identifying the stone FOR you, we would identify the stone WITH you. We don’t provide an identification service and we’re not in a position to proved gem certificates or valuations.

That being said, we enjoy the challenge of identifying stones and between us, the Club members have a lot of experience identifying rocks and gemstones. Sometimes this is easy to do when there are properties that the stone has, which enables us to identify it with a fair degree of certainty.

Sometimes we would need to examine the stone in more detail and carry out some basic tests that can point us in the right direction. Occasionally we will need to do some research to be able to identify the rock. Inevitably, though, there are times when we do not have the specialist equipment needed to be able to identify the stone exactly.
